I was asked to check out the various political party manifestos to see what was on offer during the election campaign. Heritage appears to be a fairly minor issue in the election process as it was not mentioned at all by United Future, it received a passing comment by ACT, NZ First offered a one line policy and there was only slightly more from National and while the policies from Labour and the Greens were a little more detailed they are both quite brief. Rob Hall (GM Southern NZHPT) gave a PowerPoint presentation to the Christchurch City Council (12th Feb 2014). The PowerPoint (converted to images) includes pie chart diagrams that illustrate the proportion of registered heritage buildings lost and those that are still at risk.

"Push to protect remaining heritage" The Press reports on a Christchurch City Council Heritage Workshop.
Update: The Greater Christchurch Buildings Trust presented a Deputation to the C.C.C. Earthquake Forum. Led by Jim Anderton and Philip Burdon the GCBT gave an overview of their plan to make safe the Christ Church Cathedral.
The Councillors were not allowed in a ruling by the Mayor to Q&A with the Trust's Deputation "Team".
