Historic Places Hawke’s Bay and MTG Hawke’s Bay present this special one-off screening in conjunction with the New Zealand Film Archive. The films showcase the construction of civic buildings and monuments, domestic architecture and the architecture of industry, taking the viewer on a lively journey through 1920s New Zealand, from footage of the temple at Rātana, to evidence of the devastation of the Murchison earthquake, to street-scenes from Lambton Quay to Napier’s lively waterfront.
