Gunyah homestead at Glenroy will be the highlight of a bus day trip being organised for Sunday October 12 by Historic Places Mid Canterbury.

The homestead suffered serious earthquake damage in 2010 and 2011 when chimneys collapsed. However all restoration has been completed and Gunyah now offers boutique accommodation and meals. A talk by the owner on the history of the estate will follow lunch, with time to explore the woodland gardens, parts of the homestead and out buildings. (more…)

Education is a key focus for our group. We approached the Mid Canterbury Herald who are keen to support this cause . So watch out over the next few months for features .
