“Echoes of World War I resonate at Ewelme” Heritage New Zealand Media Release

“Three of the grandsons of Rev Vicesimus Lush – the man who built Ewelme in 1863-64 – fought overseas, though only one returned home,” says Cheryl Laurie, the Manager of Ewelme Cottage.

The Heritage New Zealand property will host a mini-exhibition entitled Grandsons at War, featuring items associated with the Lush family and their involvement in fighting overseas during the war that was meant to end all wars.

Grandsons at War will take place at Ewelme Cottage from April 5 to June 28 on Sundays only. Admission - $8.50 per adult; children and Heritage New Zealand members free.

Administration of the National Historic Landmarks List/Ngā Manawhenua o Aotearoa me ōna Kōrero Tūturu.
Statutory role of advocacy for historical and cultural heritage.

“Christmas cheer comes to Pompallier Mission” Heritage New Zealand Media Release (27.11.2015)

Local groups and soloists will perform traditional festive favourites as well as modern Christmas songs as part of the show, which takes place on Saturday December 20 at 6pm.

Carols @ Pompallier is an annual fixture for the Russell community and is a great way for the community to re-connect and kick off the festive season,” says the Manager of Pompallier Mission, Scott Elliffe, who will be celebrating his first Christmas in the Bay of Islands this year.
