Heritage New Zealand welcomes new Southern Region General Manager
Heritage New Zealand welcomes the appointment of Sheila Watson to the position of Southern Region General Manager, based in Christchurch.
Sheila is a Planner by training and has previously held senior positions with Mighty River Power, Meridian Energy and CERA. She also spent seven years as a Commissioner on the bench of the Environment Court.
“Sheila brings considerable expertise and a wide range of skills to this position,” says Heritage New Zealand Chief Executive Bruce Chapman.
“Her general management, environmental policy and planning background, coupled with significant mediation experience will be very useful in her new role.
“Sheila will add to Heritage New Zealand’s engagement with heritage owners, government, councils, iwi and the wider public as this country’s lead heritage agency.”
Sheila commences her new role, which covers Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland on Monday 16 November.
