"Funds are being sought for the restoration of a significant piece of Canterbury heritage.

The historic Deans' farm buildings on the Christchurch Boys' High School site will be repaired at a cost of just over $2 million.

The school is embarking on a major community fundraising campaign after its insurance pay-out fell $1m short of the restoration cost.

The old buildings are one of the last remnants of the Deans family farm. The family were among the earliest European settlers of Canterbury. ..."
