VICTORIA SQUARE
Should it be redeveloped ?
Public discussion, Friday 10 April, 7.30pm
at the WEA, 59 Gloucester Street.

The joint Government/City Council Central City Development Unit planned redevelopment of Victoria Square without provision for public submissions.
Once the plan became known there was considerable opposition. It has now been decided that public participation is necessary, the CCDU is setting aside its original plan and going back to a clean slate. After community input a new draft plan will be issued and public feedback on this incorporated into the final version.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE INFORMED DEBATE, TO ENSURE ANY CHANGES ARE UNDERSTOOD AND HAVE WIDESPREAD SUPPORT.

Speakers confirmed so far:
Rob Kerr, Development Director, Anchor Projects, CERA
Grant Edge, Co-designed, 1980s Victoria Square
Neil Roberts, President, Christchurch Civic Trust
Di Lucas, Landscape Planner, Lucas Associates

This will be an opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the ultimate development of what is a
treasured part of our central city.

It is important that citizens’ ideas and priorities for our city are taken seriously, Christchurch is where we live, its future affects us all.

Come and have your say
