Heritage Week – The Committee voted in principle to support a heritage event instead of Heritage Week this year and asked staff to look into possible options.
Chairperson Yani Johanson says, “The Committee felt it was important to have an event to celebrate and showcase our city’s heritage, including what is being done post-earthquakes to restore and repair damaged heritage buildings. As such the committee has asked Council staff to work constructively with the heritage community and to bring a report with options to a Council meeting about how this could be achieved. The committee was also supportive of the return in 204 of Heritage Week as a significant event.”
Heritage Incentive Grants – The Committee approved Heritage Incentive Grant funds totalling $29,273 be awarded for two separate projects.

• An additional Heritage Incentive Grant of $16,981 for conservation and maintenance work for St Paul's Church roof in Papanui was approved by the Committee.
